The Alessi Barkroll Paper Towel Holder features the iconic style of Alessi's popular Barkcellar, inspired by the trees surrounding the homes of the designers.
Designed by Michael Boucquillon and Donia Maaoui, the "Barkroll" resembles tree bark; the perforated pattern recalls the knots in wood grain, and the cylindrical shape suggests the structure of a tree trunk.
Each time you tear off a paper towel, you're reminded that paper is made from trees.
Poetic yet functional, this piece is made by cutting and laser perforating a steel sheet, shaping and welding it in a series of mechanical processes.
